About this Event

Everywhere We Are is the Farthest Place, a very special music performance by acclaimed artists, Mary Edwards and Michael Eaton, is an iterative composition based on vibroacoustic natural events and geological locations that resemble the topography or mineralogy of other planets (Space Analogues) Edwards experienced while on expedition in the Arctic and Barents Seas.

About the Artists

Mary Edwards is a composer and environmental sound artist whose practice encompasses installations, film scores, and performance. Themes of temporality, nostalgia, ephemerality, and the natural world recur throughout her work. Her projects engage the sound of memory-how listening carries history, place, and presence across time.

Michael Eaton is a saxophonist, composer, and educator active in contemporary jazz and free improvisation.  He is a co-founder of Mother Brain Records, a label that specializes in electronic music, new music, and hybrid genres.
