About the Event

Calling all generative artists, devisers, collaborative makers, and movement artists! Image Theatre for Devisers is an Image Theatre workshop for artists who want to center equity in their creative process. This workshop invites participants to explore how tableaus and gesture can reveal power, relationships, and unspoken dynamics within an ensemble. Together we’ll use Image Theatre as both a rehearsal tool and a socially engaged creative practice.  How can we use images to unlearn harmful patterns, strengthen our ensembles, and build more just and intentional creative spaces? This workshop is for artists who are curious, collaborative, and ready to imagine new ways of making theater.  No Theater of the Oppressed experience necessary.

Sliding Scale and Payment Information:

• About sliding scale: Please select the tier that feels appropriate for you based on your financial means, the value you wish to receive, or your desire to support TONYC. You will also be offered the option to add a donation to your fee, if the scale doesn’t match your offering. The income from our trainings supports our ongoing community programs.
• Payment plans/Employer payment: If you need a payment plan or an invoice in order for an organization to send payment, please contact Sulu via [email protected] with details for your request.
• Refunds: Deposits are non-refundable. Training fees paid to TONYC are non-refundable during the 7 days before the training, and may not be credited to a future training. Exceptions will be considered at TONYC's discretion.

COVID Policy: To keep our community safe, we strongly encourage masking unless you have received a negative COVID test result in the previous 24 hours. Masks will be available onsite.
