Wednesday 23 September | 3:00 - 6:30PM Queens Museum, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, NY 11368
A special panel and evening reception at the Queens Museum will mark the announcement of a forthcoming policy brief from the Jameel Arts & Health Lab, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), making the case for museums as valuable infrastructure for public health and community wellbeing worldwide.
Bringing together policymakers, artists, healthcare professionals and cultural leaders from around the world, the event will explore how museums can support physical, mental and social wellbeing, and become meaningful partners in health, as healthcare systems shift their focus from treatment to prevention, and from hospital to community.
The discussion will explore how museums can build deeper connections with communities and support prevention and wellbeing, and what this emerging role could mean for the future of health policy and international action.
Hosted at the Queens Museum, former home of the UN General Assembly, the evening will feature a performance by the Resistance Revival Chorus, followed by a reception, where guests are welcome to explore the Queens Museum.
