About Urban Health Plan and Arts for EveryBody

Urban Health Plan’s mission is to continuously improve the health of communities and the quality of life of the people we serve by providing affordable, comprehensive, quality, primary and specialty health care and by assuring the performance and advancement of innovative best practices.

Urban Health Plan's Arts For EveryBody is an exciting, one-of-a-kind, “social prescribing” initiative where patients are “prescribed” free and low-cost opportunities to engage with local art and activities such as museums, theaters, cooking classes, performance venues, and more! This holistic approach aims to improve the health and well-being of the patients we serve through the power of art within the walls of our health centers and in the culturally rich communities we serve.

Social prescribing is about creating a vital bridge between healthcare and the community. It encourages closer attention to the social influences that affect physical and mental health and acknowledges the emotional benefits of participating in local arts and social activities.
